I am all for this, provided they never implement it, and vigorously enforce their patent over it if any other companies try to do so :)
 
It was posted before when it was announced weeks ago. I wouln't look at patents as an accurate forecaster of Apple's progression - Apple patents lots of things that never see the light of day and releases things that don't get a patent until release. People can probbaly refer to any number of applications that are in the patent databases that Apple has never used. There is just no correlation.

surely this will never see the light of day,

adverts on the net are bad enough but having your system hijacked to provide inane crap that you probable dont want would drive me up the wall
