So I have the tracking number for my iPad and have been watching it coming from China. This morning I get an email from Apple saying:

"To Our Valued Apple Customer:

Thank you for your recent purchase of the magical and revolutionary
Apple iPad.

We would like to advise you Saturday delivery is not available in your
area.

Your order will be delivered on Monday April 5th.

For up-to-date information on your order, please visit our Order
Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.

Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team"

It had my correct order number and address in the email. My first thought was WTF why me. So I called UPS and checked with them and they said there is a special shipping instruction on the shipment that guarantees delivery on April 3rd (my b-day thx Apple) by 3pm. There is no delivery date listed anymore on my order status page on Apple's website.

So is this some sort of twisted April 1st prank from Apple (doubtful) or what. I was sweating bullets for a few minutes. Hopefully UPS is right and Apple is wrong about my delivery date. Anyone else get something like this? Oh yeh the email address was:
APPLE STORE <Do_not_reply@apple.com>

Received the same email, infact two copies four minutes apart. Living in rural Maine, I was hardly surprised, but would love to find out it was an April Fools.

Call them and check. They told me it would be here Saturday.

My experience with UPS has been that the Apple is more likely to be correct than anyone you can talk to at UPS. I suspect you'll have to wait until Monday.
