I had a door from a powermac that I couldn't use for anything. I love the design of it and I wanted to reuse it. How? Make some "art" of it.

Has anyone else added a power PC Mac (or part of one) into their home decor?

Here is the door on my wall:

I used the screw holes in the back to hold it onto the wall. Works well and took 10 minutes to put up.

My parents aren't to happy about it, but they aren't apple fans :p

Nice job! looks like it could be in a museum. Nice job reusing!

Can't see the door on the 3rd picture though......

Anyone have an idea for the 12 o'clock position? I just have a guitar pick there for now. I was thinking of using a screw or bolt but that doesn't look clean enough.

Ideas?

For the midday position, how about the Apple logo but with Steve's cutout?

I did a google search and found a few examples of similar clocks. Maybe they can give you some ideas.

I think that thicker arms on the clock would be good.

You could also think about putting time indicators around the mac sign [although I quite like the minimalist design of the first few examples]. But if you do want to go in that direction you could buy a stick on decal.

or you could make something like this...

Maybe just mark out 12, 3, 6, and 9?

I probably wouldn't put anything at all, I like the clean look. A power button isn't a bad idea if you want something there, though.

Or, if you have a spare set of Apple Headphones, snip off one of the earpieces, or the headphone jack.

I do have a power button in my junk drawer... hmmm...

Though It is either nothing or 3, 6, 9, 12 so id need 3 more.

I'm going to make some bigger arms eventually, this was really just a proof of concept

Why not use keyboard keys from the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Pad? I think that would look awesome. Or use like the keys from the MBP/MBA?

So, yes. I am resurrecting this thread. After another failure on eBay of selling this processor, I have decided to just say screw it and turn it into something. So I chose to make a stand for my headphones and phone for my desk. I used my Galaxy Note to take the pictures, but it looks nice in there. Not to small. I put some things on it to show how it works! What do you guys think?

Looks nice aside for the white foam pieces. I know they're for safety but might be able to get away with making it look cleaner if you used something else. I'd find some kind of security for the sides as well, otherwise it kindof just looks like stuff is leaning against other stuff.

Definitely makes the difference that youre using it as a headphone stand also.

Yeah the white pieces were all I had for now. Im going to try to get some foam that will blend in better. I'm also going to put a USB cable in there for better charging. For the sides, there isn't much I can do as this holds my phone and tablet so it needs to be universal. Its really so I can see the screen light up while I have headphones on
