Hi, I am applying to Apple for a job at a local retail store. Specifically, I am very talented at photo & video editing.

Apple will of course do a background check on me at some point, and I have no criminal record or anything like that. However, the only thing that I may be concerned about is that I had pirated Final Cut Studio. So here's my main question:

>Does Apple check your software purchase history in their background checks?
>>Is there any for them to even check that? Is the old Final Cut Studio linked to your Apple ID? (I downloaded it back in 2009 or so) They don't even sell FCS anymore.

I originally got into video editing as a hobby in high school after buying a mac and of course, didn't have the bank account to just drop $1,000+ for a simple hobby at the time.

So again, would this even come up in a background check?

You're one modest person. :p

I don't know if they'll actually check on your software usage history but you never know with the kind of world we live in today where these kinds of things can be found out, especially if the software ever called home at some point.

But like most employers, they're probably mostly concerned about a criminal background and nothing more. Also, you're better off worrying about this once you actually get hired, not in the middle of the application process otherwise, you would have worried about nothing.

I think they won't bother checking that, although I'd say it's too late to worry about that now, isn't it?:D
