Apple today began selling refurbished M2 Pro Mac mini models in its online store in the United States, offering the latest high-end version of the desktop machine at a discounted price for the first time.

Refurbished M2 Pro Mac mini models are priced starting at $1,099 for the entry-level version with a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. That's a $200 discount off of the original $1,299 price tag for that machine.

Apple is selling a range of Mac mini models with various RAM, Ethernet, and SSD upgrades, both with the M2 chip and with the M2 Pro chip. Standard M2 Mac mini models were added to the refurbished store earlier this week, but the M2 Pro models just surfaced today.

Prices range from $1,099 to $2,799 depending on Mac mini configuration, with savings up to $400. Customers purchasing a refurbished Mac mini can expect to get between 12 and 15 percent off.

The M2 and M2 Pro Mac mini models came out in January 2023, replacing the prior M1 and Intel Mac mini options. There have been no external updates to the Mac mini, with Apple instead focusing on internal upgrades that include the M-series chip.

Refurbished products from Apple are almost identical to new devices, with each one undergoing a refurbishment process that includes full functionality testing, blemish-free external enclosures, and more. Refurbished products are eligible for AppleCare+ and have the same 14-day return period as new Apple devices.

I think I will treat this news as my buy signal! I can save $290+ on the: 32GB memory + 512GB SSD1 + 10 Gigabit Ethernet build. Which is a nice chunk left over for AppleCare! Perfect little machine for the home network!

It's all I was waiting for, but... Where are you, Samsung ViewFinity ? Where are you, Odyssey Neo G9 8K ?

I could buy a refurbished or a student discount Mac mini. Does anyone remember if the Back to School promotion included the Mac mini ?

I qualify for educational pricing in the UK and it's letting me stack the refurb and education discounts. Just waiting for the right spec now...

Really ? How do you stack both discounts ?
I'm in Canada and I can buy a refurbished Mac mini with or without student discount it's the same price.

Log into the Edu store, then scroll down past accessories to the refurbished section.

You're better off getting one when they're on sale at Costco with a 2% membership reward (if you have the executive card) and a credit card with cash back. They're already $50 off Apple's price without a discount. Plus they have a 90 day return window for computers in case you regret your purchase. Unfortunately they're not on sale right now and they're out of stock. Congrats to anyone that got a base M1 mini from Costco's clearance price of $299.97...

Yawn. These are not selling.
If the mini had a spare, accessible, open M2 slot in which users could add or remove drives as needed, I'd be interested. As it is, these are intended to be sealed boxes for consuming within the Apple ecosystem. Frustrating choice for platform renowned as creator friendly.

I ordered a M2 24gb and 1tb, I will retired my Mac Pro 2009, bye bye High Sierra.

Tempting…very tempting…

What are you all considering for a monitor? I can't justify paying even more for a Studio Display.
I'm using a Samsung 32" 4K I share with my game PC. My previous (2018 Intel) mini used to be very picky about detecting the monitor when switching sources. The M2 Pro mini seems a lot more laid back about what it takes to find it.

I would love to buy an M2 Pro 32GB RAM, but they STILL wont take a Mac Studio Max in trade and I'm not going to spend more on Macs until they do. Grrr.
