Apple being sued over multi touch?

Taiwan-based IC design house Elan Microelectronics has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Apple with the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, according to the company's filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

Technologies present in Apple's MacBook, iPhone and iPod touch products are alleged to infringe upon patents US5825352 and US7274353 which cover multi-function touch panels. Elan has requested the court issues an order prohibiting the use, sale and manufacturing of the products infringing its patent rights.

This is rather ironic when Apple said they were going to go after people using multi touch technology (assuming they were talking about the Palm Pre)
