Wondering if anyone else is seeing the issue where sideloaded iOS apps no longer launch on M1 Big Sur installs. Apple removed this ability and then restored it about a week ago. Today it seems like it's disabled again but I'm not sure if it's me or it's actually disabled.

iOS apps installed before Apple started blocking still work, but anything new won't launch.

You can't update the app as one normally would once it is on the Mac. Do those who are engaging in said process not care about that pertinent aspect? I guess people are planning on side loading every time there is an app update.

Oh sure, it’s not that convenient but it’s totally possible to upgrade sideloaded apps; you just need to delete them first and then pull down the latest ipa.

@Dino_Axl Glad it worked for you! What OS are you running?

It is annoying, but a the same time I don't need every single latest version of the app as soon as it comes out.
For example I have the Gmail and ProtonMail app on my Mac and it doesn't really need constant updating.

Fair point. Some apps need more regular updates to remain usable while others are more stable and may need less features.

Ah, I figured it out. This one was totally my fault: I forgot that you needed to export the IPA after downloading it. ??‍♂️
