apple bluetooth headset help

I use my bluetooth headset, but when I'm not using it, I like to keep the bluetooth off to conserve battery. What happens is when I put the phone in the dock (the one included with the headset) the bluetooth will turn on even if I have it off on my phone. Any way to stop that from happening?

You dont save much power at all when turning bluetooth off. Both the phone and headset radios go into a standby mode when not used. Then when a call comes in the phone seeks and wakes up the headset.

seems like the power goes down a lot fast when bluetooth is on...maybe its just me and I watch my iphone 24/7, and yes that means I never take my eyes off it.

It's superficial at best. I leave mine on all the time and my battery usually lasts like two days.
