All iPads Apple Books question

Simple question: is here any way how to read Apple Books-optimized ebooks in other app than Apple’s Books? Im asking mostly about ebooks from MacStories.net. I dont like Apple Books. Thanks.

What format are they in? Is it specific for Apple Books or are they ePub releases. The latter should work elsewhere too.

They are "name_of_the_book.epub" but its epub format version optimized for Apple Books, so in any other reader I tried to use the result was mess. "Normal" epubs from Internet and PDF files worked good without issues in any 3rd party reader.

It's somethink like "My webpage is broken on Firefox, but under Opera it loads without problems".

I’m giving up, so I will keep Apple Books in “Other” folder just for MacStories e-books.

So another question: any e-book reader with support:

PDF
E-pub
iOS Files app folder
Custom font
Dark mode

I prefer just classic readers, without vendor-based features like Kindle does.

I can't answer myself as I don't use iOS devices, but I would recommend that you check out the MobileRead.com forum. You'll probably get the most information and the best information about anything "ebooks" there.
