Im going to be getting a 17" powerbook sometime next week and it has built in BT 2.0, I was wondering what people think of the BT mouses (the apple ones, or other brands if you have reccomendation, it just needs to be BT) how is the battery life etc? thanks!

I have the Apple BT mouse and I don't like it. I just can't handle the one-button thing. I've been a Windows user mostly and several people told me if I tried it for a while and gave it a good chance I would get used to it, but after two solid months of use I still hated it. If you don't mind the one button thing though the battery life is pretty good and it tracks well. There was nothing wrong with the mouse in terms of performance I just didn't care for the one-button design.

I also own a MS BT mouse for my PC and I like that although it is sometimes sluggish to wake up. I am pleased with it though. However, that MS BT mouse doesn't track well on my Mac, not sure why as it works well on my Windows box.

I'm still considering getting another BT mouse for my Mac. Currently I'm using a wired Logitech mouse that I rather like. I've considered buying the MX910... I think that is the BT model for the Logitech mouse. It's very much like my wired one only based on BT.

BTW, if you'd like I still have my Apple BT mouse in great condition. I'd be willing to sell it if you are interested.

I love my single button Wireless Mouse (and Keyboard) although it'd be hell if I didn't have rechargeable batteries. :)

The only problem is that it isn't all that responsive so something like a game would be horrible but I don't really play games so that's all cool for me. :p

The Apple BT mouse was ok if you don't mind the one button and no scroll wheel thing. It's not the same as a wired mouse, but it's doable.

I've tried two macmice BT from DVForge and neither of them tracked well. Also, the shell is loose and moves around alot. Feels cheap (but isn't cheap).

I've tried a mini BT mouse from Radtek. That worked pretty well tracking wise. However, on the second day the left button started getting stuck and would need to be pried loose often.

I've also tried the bluetooth mouse that came with my dad's acer ferrari whatever that was. It didn't track well either.

Pretty much I've had bad experiences with all my bluetooth mice (and no great experiences with anything bluetooth for that matter). From the ones I've tried, if I had to recommend one, I'd say the Radtek on the assumption that my button problem was a fluke.

However, I've heard good things about the Logitech bluetooth mouse. If I was going to give bluetooth mice a shot again, that's what I'd get.

I have the Apple BT mouse which I use when on the road. I like it a lot and battery life is good. I am a total convert to one-button so that does not bother me at all. In fact I use my mighty mouse on my desktop as a one button mouse but with scrollwheel.

The Apple BT mouse is a good size for use. i.e. hands and fingers don't get sore, which I do get though if using the 3rd party ones that are smaller. Also, the larger Logitech's don't work well for me either. The arch/curvature is too great for me and again, I get sore using them for too long.

But... these things are all subjective. Find a store with several of the models so you can try them. Try and do a lot of mouse work with each and see how you go.

Finally, the one downside with BT mice is their weight. The batteries make them much heavier than a wired mouse. It's always a joy coming back to my wired mighty mouse 'cos it's so light and easy to move around relative to the BT mouse.

I like my BT mouse, I like anything that frees up the clutter of wires. I find if I use good batteries I get about 4-6 weeks out of them. I have not changed batteries in it for a couple months now. Due to the fact it is an expensive paperweight since I got a Mighty Mouse. If you get a chance try both before choosing. Its hard to deny the features of the new mouse, it is really good.

I've got one an love it! But i do think, if you're into gaming (unreal like) or into design (photoshop like) you might want something more fast (games) or presice (graphical editing).

But for everyday usage, it suits me fine... battery life is ok... it's a fine and great mouse! If you're used to a single button, you'd be ok...

The Apple BT mouth isn't really that great.

I swear, a third party like Logitech or even MS would make a FORTUNE releasing an Apple-styled BT mouse. The Logitech MX900 is a great mouse, but it doesn't have that Apple look. I got the Apple BT mouse because it matches my 20" iMac, but I'd love to have a better mouse (this thing CHEWS through batteries) that looked more Apple-ish.

Ive only had my first mac for about a week, but Im seriously considering changing my mouse. I have the apple BT mouse and my whole right hand and forearm have been aching ever since I started using it. All it takes is 10 minutes with the Apple mouse and its like someone lit a fire in my hand. The one button issue doesnt bother me though.

Stuck in the middle with you
I just got a bluetooth MS intellimouse explorer yesterday. It tracks really well. If you have Medium to Big hands I'd recommend this, especially since you can get it cheap on ebay.

Best mouse I have ever owned. I dont ask for much though. Just need it to click when I click, etc. one button is fine for me.

If your more of a pro user, and need super responsive clicks and lots o buttons, obviously look else where, but if you want a simple elegant solution, with the apple feel to it, its a good mouse.
