Apple Calendar Quirk

A day ago the number 1 appeared in a red circle at the upper right of the Calendar icon in the Dock. I looked at everything ut can't id what it means, nor can I get rid of it.

Suggestions...? Thanks for your interest in this issue.

You may have received a calendar invitation.

Look at the upper-left corner of the Calendar app. If there's a

icon, then you have an invitation. Click to reveal the invitation.

Given that I turn 80 in July, and with the virus causing postponements all over, I've decided to postpone my birthday until some future date. So, no two invitations for me.....
