Apple Card: 6% back on Apple Purchases

Question. I got an Apple Card today and bought a customized 16-inch Macbook Pro. The Macbook isn't supposed to come until January 13th and has yet to show up in my charges. Will the charge show up before the 31st? And if not will I still get the 6% back?

Workaround: Buy whatever amount the MBP is in Apple Gift Cards. Immediately get 6% back and use those gift cards on your purchase.
Downside: Returns will potentially be difficult.

So I was told by Apple you had to do it this way basically. I bought a new MacBook Air for a gift with mine last week and was given the 6% right away. The AirPods Pro, on the same order, nothing. They don't charge until they get ready to ship which is why I asked them.

Out of curiosity, did you ask whether returns can be sent to a credit card (or need to go back to gift cards)?

I didn’t ask but the fine print for gift cards says they are non-refundable. Refunds made with gift cards go back to original card in store or emailed when online.

Update: I ended up getting charged this morning. I also chatted with them and they told me they would honor it if I sent them a copy of the receipt if it didn't show up.
