Twice now while out and about using my card the transaction was decline and my card went into Fraud status and was locked. I have never had a problem like that with any other credit card. Then yesterday I was charging twice for a transaction at the Apple Store.

Doesn't seem like the best product to always have to watch it like a hawk and spend tons of time messaging GS Apple Card support.

I've made 4 purchases so far and they've all worked flawlessly. I'm also on iOS 13 Beta.

However, I haven't tried buying anything with the physical card, just Apple pay.

If people are using it and saying it is working or not working, i think these people need to be specific on how it is being used, either via Apple pay or as a normal credit card. That way people can get an idea of where potential issues lie.

I have used it to make online payments (using the information in the Wallet app to enter the Card's number, etc), used the wallet on my iPhone XS to pay contactless and used the physical card itself. (Not sure if I tried the contactless payment on my Series 4 Apple Watch yet.) Did not have any issues with any of the methods of payments. There were slight differences in the amount of time it took to get the "instant notification", but ironically the longest for a notification was a purchase from the iTunes Store itself of a movie bundle.

Another gas station decline and now a starbucks decline..
It also takes forever for a card payment to reflect on your available balance.

This card sucks.

I have only used the mobile Starbucks app there so I can’t comment (and so far I have used a Costco Citibank card for gas) but I have used the physical card in several stores and restaurants and the notifications are almost instantaneous and the balance is changed at the same time.

Not talking about charges. Wait till you pay the balance on your card and you’ll see how long it takes for that payment to process and for you to regain your balance.

Well I did it twice in August - once to see how it worked and once to pay the small end of month balance and they both posted and updated my available balance almost immediately. The payment was from a linked TD Bank checking account. Perhaps it is your bank and not Apple causing the issue?

Sorry to hear. I have not had the any of the trouble you are having. I paid my card twice and post update immediately and the funds taken out my bank the next day.
I have yet to have any decline. I would reach out to support and see what's going on. Hopefully they fix your issues an turn your experiences into a better now .

Same here - no problems at all charging, Apple Pay, or settling from my checking account.

Though I do wish GS would accept debit card or PayPal payment instead of just a checking account....

My citi cash back card gets declined at this one gas station every single time. None of the other ones in the area have that issue. You might just be getting really unlucky.

No problems here. I've been using it exclusively for nearly all purchases with Apple Wallet. Only the gas pump do I use the physical card. Only place I had a problem was places that don't take apple pay. So Just used physical card there. Can't recall any place that it didn't work at all for either payment type.

My payments are reflected immediately in my balance. I have not had a single issue with this card .....yet.

Another decline - Medical Bill

What has Apple/Goldman Sachs said when you texted or called them? That seems crazy....after all its just a Mastercard.

Thankfully I haven't had any problem with mine. 30-50 transactions, 3-5 with the physical card. A friend of mine had an issue on his first attempt to use his because he had a nick name in the app. Once he changed that it was fine.

OP, why are you still using the card?

Cancel it and get another one if you want the card.

iMessage GS on the issue and post you discussion here. Be interested as to what they say.

I have had no declines. 60 or so transactions. Apple Pay and Apple Card.

My bank is very slow in posting. So, I expect a delay of several days. Especially if a weekend. Will make my payment around the 19th.

I had the same experience years ago with BOA and Amex. Both problems were because it was new and they don't know my spending habits. Once they knew how much I spend, I had no issues. As far as being charged twice, system issue. I've had the same issue with Amex. I just reach out to support and let them know.

Personally, i've never cared about this. I always record my charges on Quicken or on the notes app at the time of purchase then transfer over. As long as I payed, they can take 5 days or 100 days to process. Whatever server they are using to process payment, would need to be updated per your indication. It took US banks years to announce that debit card charges will process and post in 1 day. This was just maybe 2-3 years ago. I remember BOA taking 5 days to show a gas station charge to move from process in to posted. (and this is debit. Not credit).

I give it 6 months before Apple announces more payment options. Its payment, so i don't believe Apple or GS would reject the idea of paypal or a debit card. Also isn't a debit card money coming out of a checking Acct?
