Apple Card Apple Card (credit card) in Portugal?

Does anyone have experience using Apple Card in Portugal, either through Apple Pay (e.g., phone or Watch) or as a physical card?

I know that Apple Card uses the MasterCard network so that itself doesn't worry me. However, in reaching out to Apple Card support specialists I'm told that the Apple Card has no PIN. Some credit card payment terminals in Europe, as I understand, require a PIN.

Thoughts?

Here in Finland I use a local Mastercard CC and I can either pay by tapping or using my PIN. It depends upon the amount of the transaction and sometimes it asks for your PiN no matter the amount. I have no idea what one does without a PIN. I cannot speak about Apple Card as they are not available outside the US.

@Expos of 1969 , thank you for sharing your experiences. I'm hoping that tapping will mostly be accepted in the places I venture.

Apple Cash doesn't require a PIN because every payment is authenticated by Face ID, Touch ID, or a secure passcode. There is also no card number, security code, or expiration date for your Apple Cash card.

If you're prompted by a terminal to enter a PIN to complete a debit transaction, enter a four-digit code, like 0000.
