I was in the first round of emails and when I clicked to go to the card application page it gave me an error. Tech support told me it was an issue of the email not being sent to my Apple ID. They had me check my list of reachable email addresses in my settings. My Apple ID email was not the first one in the list. It was one I used for ITunes a long time ago and later changed because I had a mix-match between iTunes and my Apple ID long ago. They changed the email address for the early application email and resent, but it took a day. I don’t recall if I used my normal email address or my Apple ID when requesting the early application notice, but I think in the end it came down to if my Apple ID wasn’t first in the list of reachable emails their system got hosed.
