do u guys think its worth it to buy apple care for the new iMacs??? has anyone ever had problems with it after the 1st year?

It's definitely worth it if you're planning to keep your iMac for more than one year. AppleCare is only 179$ but it gives you peace of mind for three years and if something breaks and needs repair, you'll get nothing with 179$
It's especially worth it if you find it on ebay...you can get it way cheaper than the Apple list price.

I'm definitely going to get it for my iMac. I mean, for $200 or whatever it costs, I think its good to protect an expensive machine like the iMac.
The shrink-wrapped retail box can be purchased for $120 from L.A. Computer. That comes to $5 per month for the extra two years of coverage.
I highly recommend it.

I love statements like this. Just a blanket statement with no facts whatsoever to back it up.
AppleCare has saved my ass more than a few times and burned me when I cheaped out and didn't buy it. It's a mere $5 per month for the extra coverage period if purchased from L.A. Computer and even cheaper off eBay.
It may not be worth the price of admission to YOU and that's just fine but it's certainly no ripoff.
