When buying one of the new Mini's, Should I bother buying the Apple care for it?

I plan on buying the Mini with the maxed out CPU but upgrade the Ram myself and save some money.

Will upgrading the ram void my applecare?

Any advice is helpful.

Mini was made for users to upgrade the ram and will not void the warranty one bit in doing so. For peace of mind some get the AppleCare + warranty but others pass it by for the time they will keep it.

I've upgrade the memory twice now to 16 GB for my 2011 model, though not really needed, it was cheap, lots cheaper than buying from Apple.
