So, what are my odds, in terms of the 250+$ investment paying off, are they built sturdy or what have been your experiences? Is the melting battery still an issue? I dont want to pay if its probably not going to experience any issues.

definitely get it. I've already come to see that. If not now, then within the 1st year while you're still eligible and can get a feel for what sort of problems people are facing with your generation of macbook.
