Definitely pickup the Apple Care. I didn't buy it for my 12"PowerBook G4, and sure enough a little over a year my hard drive failed and needed to be replaced. Apple wanted to charge me a lot to replace it, and told me I should have bought Apple Care (add insult to injury why don't ya,lol). I haven't bought Apple Care for my MacBook Air yet, I barely afforded the MacBook Air.

Like everyone else says, it really comes down to if you'll think you'll keep it for more than a year. The good news is, I'm pretty sure you got an entire year before you have to buy it.
But if you do keep it past the 1 year, just one repair will make it worth the $250.

That's right, you are covered for one year, the apple care extends that coverage for another 2 years, making 3 years of total warranty. Also, like others have said, don't buy through Apple, get it on ebay or another online place where it is significantly cheaper (just make sure it is sealed so that it is valid). Another thing to consider is if you keep it past 1 year and don't make your money back getting a free repair, you will have a higher resell value with the apple care.
I have found Applecare to be a worthwhile investment.
My last three Notebooks have had it, and I've ended up using it on all of them. My MBP is going in for service as soon as I get my work files on the Air.

Every Apple laptop I've ever owned has had to go in for repair (my current MBP is going in today...joy). Buy it...for sure.
I just remembered that I ordered Apple Care with my MBA. Was I supposed to get a box or something?? Or am I suppose to be comforted knowing I ordered it?

yes but dont go a day over the date..you will not be able to get it also you can get a refund if you sell your lappy

Have actually bought my Apple Care at the same time as my MBA.
On my Apple Order Status, the section for the Apple Care says "Complete", even though I have not received any "physical" delivery: no small package, no letter...
Can somebody shed some light on this for me ? Is the Care Plan "dematerialized" ?

I have the same thing and got concerned because when I went to the Apple site to activate my Apple Care (thinking I could use my order number or something) it asked for an Apple Care number. So I called up Apple and asked. The customer service rep said that the Apple Care package comes a couple weeks after you receive your Macbook Air. No real reason for it, but that's what she told me. Shouldn't be too much of a concern since you're completely covered (Hardware and Software) for the first 90 days. I'm giving it till the end of the month (got my MBA Feb 4, end of the month seems like a good amount of time) and then calling again.

I also took SwitchCare instead of AppleCare. It has the same warranty extension (3years) but includes damage by user (like dropping it to the ground or water damage etc, it has a 150 franchise though) and only cost's 154,99
