how does applecare works outside usa? i want to buy an imac from compusa but i would bring it to ecuador-south america since i live here . there´s a few store here that are mac authorized retailer but im not sure if they would repair if anything wrong with my machine

There are two Apple Stores in Quito (Inteleq: between El Jardín y 6 de Diciembre on Naciones Unidas and Mundo Mac: on América y Naciones Unidas right next to the Cine.) There's another computer tech store on 12 de Octubre, if I recall, right across the street from the Oro Verde. They ship out to the U.S., but friends have used them with AppleCare. I haven't had to, yet. The turnaround time was around a week. You might check them out.
