Is anybody else having serious volume issues with Apple CarPlay?

Ever since iOS18.0 I have had serious issues with Apple CarPlay that I never had before. The volume will work fine for a few minutes and then the volume will only work on the front speaker in my vehicle and then, randomly, the volume will only work on my iphone. My iPhone is plugged into the USB-C and connected to my Toyota 4Runner car and this is where the problems occur. The only way to hear music at the proper and consistent volume in my car is via Bluetooth.

These volume issues are maddening. Even after erasing all connections from my vehicle and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the issues still persist.

not really sure if this is related as its my first iphone hence carplay. But compared to my andoird auto when I try and get siri to do something it seems to only half mute the car audio and seems to shift the sound to mainly come out of the the passenger side which in UK is left side.

Android auto would make the music much quieter in both speakers.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro
