Apple computers at B&H

He lives in a state where B&H DOESNT do business. I live in NYC, so I would have to pay tax.
Yes. I would not hesitate in ordering from B&H or Amazon because it'll be AC that deals with my issues.
If you're not in NY you don't.

If you buy in our Manhattan store and take your merchandise with you we have to collect NYC sales tax. If we ship your merchandise to any location within NY state, we have to collect sales tax at the destination's tax rate. If we ship to any location outside NY state we do not collect sales tax although you may be liable for your state's use tax.

For those that have never been to B&H, they have a very sophisticated operation with conveyors snaking all around the store. The method in which they process your purchase is well-oiled and efficient. The store is vast and well set up. Good palce for photography stuff. Their sales people actually know the products, unlike BestBuy workers.
I've bought maybe $10K of camera gear from B&H over the years with no problems. Love the selection and prices are fine.
If it made sense for me to buy Apple gear from a 3rd party, I'd consider B&H. But sales tax isn't a concern here and the Apple Store is really convenient, so I always buy direct.
