Greetings

I'm making address labels and am wondering if I can have a custom name ("Jane and John Smith") or family name ("The Smith Family"), in place of the name in the Contacts entry (like "John Smith").

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

The way I do the family mailouts is to keep each individual as a contact.. John Lastname is one and Jane Lastname is the other, mainly to keep their phone numbers separate. For a bailout, copy one on the contacts, delete the phone number, and rename the first name of the copy contact something like John and Jane. Then group the family contacts to make a listing easier for labels.

Yes, Just change the Name entry in Contacts.

I use Labels & Addresses by Belight software. It allows you to customize your field of information for your addresses. It's fairly intuitive but has good videos on it's use when needed. For example, I have three Christmas "groups" set up in my Mac contacts, one for single, one for couples and one for families. I set the addresses for couples to list the recipient and spouse (John and Jane Doe) and the families addresses as "the Doe family". BTW, I have no affiliation with Belight but do own 3 or 4 of their aps.

Well what else are you going to do if you want a custom name for each?
That's the OP's question. Is there software out there that can help you do this in a less tedious fashion?
I don't use labels, so I don't know. I was just trying to clarify the issue.
