Just like to add a quick story about my experience yesterday with apple customer service.

The other day I lost my iPod, looked all over for it and couldn't find it, anyway later on I pulled my clothes out of the washing machine and my iPod fell onto the floor. My heart sank as I knew that water damage was a death sentence to anything electronic. Took it into an Apple store and was completely honest with the genius who served me (managed to get an appointment within 10 minutes of walking in). He said that its refreshing to hear someone be honest about what happened, and as a result of not wasting his time he said he'd replace it for a brand new one free of charge!

This is the second time Apple customer service has astounded me, and in my opinion justifies the premium the demand on their products. I'm not an apple fanboy by any stretch, and I do have a few problems with my macbook pro, but with customer service like this I feel much more confident buying from apple again and recommending them to people

Thanks for reading

cool story bro :)

here is mine. the ipod touch music player was acting funny on my new device, so i took it in late one night. one guy rushed to get me an appointment with a genius, and when i explained to the genius that it only fails intermittently, so we probably wouldn't get to observe it (we also talked about how i had reset factory settings and so forth), he just replaced it. fabulous service. no receipt needed (i actually bought it there a few weeks before, but he didn't even ask).

amazing. and, this is why i also bought an ipad and a macbook pro. i've spent several weeks waiting for service on every pc (literally, every one of them) i have had before this, and i am ready for a change :)

The big key is you were honest. As a manager in retail I can tell you I will do much more with a customer that is honest than one that is trying to get one over on me.

I work for a sportswear company and people bring back shoes that reek of bleach and are wet to the touch, I ask did you wash them? Oh no I wouldnt wash shoes!! That customer gets the minimum that I can offer. The honest customer gets the max plus a little more.

Be honest.
