Apple uses that discussion forum for good things only!!!

If you say something that Apple doesn't like it, they delete your thread..

It's also their forum so they can do with it what they want. Most companies don't even have a user forum so how do you deal with that?;)

Nowadays every "made in China" company has it's own support forum, knowledge base, whatever...
I thought Apple was more serious when dealing with their customers... :(

From where I sit, you did not post a serious question. If you want a response, then you should be specific about your problem. I will state up front, that I have absolutely no problem with Wi-Fi on Lion. I am also the type of person who wants a solution when he has a problem. Others just want the issue. You have the issue. I hope that you enjoy it.

I find their forums to be largely useless.

I have a very real problem with Lion's Time Machine killing any connection while it's backing up and no one expect people with the issue is willing to see it as a bug (which it obviously is since it worked fine in Snow Leopard).

Whenever I have real problems I come here and almost always get a good answer or solution. Now, whenever I have found a bug, instead of posting it on their boards first, I'm going straight to their feedback page and submitting it.

Just google "lion" "wi-fi" and let us know how many thousands of people are currently having this issue... Before state anything, Google it, then you come with useless opinions... ;-)

Well if you rant like you're a 6 year old (like a lot of folks do around here), I'd probably erase it too.

Here was the final reply:

Well remember these are help forums and not representative of the millions of people that don't have any problems. Making an judgement on the "health" of a software or hardware update based on what you read in a help forum is like visiting a hospital to gauge the overall health of a population. So while I'm not making light of your problem or others issues it's not huge problem that is affecting all users, it's probably isolated to either a prior condition or is a bug that only affects certain configurations or software/hardware configurations.

BTW because 10.7.2 has not been released yet (yes I read MacRumors too) we cannot discuss future products or features per the Terms of Use of this forum. Let's see what 10.7.2 brings when it comes out and see if perhaps it fixes your issue. If it doesn't then I'd dig a little more to see if the problem is specific to your machine.

Sounds quite fair.

Which reminds us of another typical MacRumors custom: acting like your problem must apply to everyone else because YOU are experiencing it.

In any case, even if the problem is widespread, you did not ask the question properly/seriously. Which is another nasty habit that we need to let go of.

I was "ranting" because I am a customer that after PURCHASE and upgraded to Lion, my MBP i7, started to loose wifi connection randomly. I Google it and found that several of thousands are experiencing the same issue. Some Apple brown noses, tried to convince me that was normal.
THAT IS NOT NORMAL WITH MAC OSX!!!
If I want some bugged OS, I would use Windows...

Delete an opinion (or the whole thread) on a forum would be normal for Saddam Hussein, Hugo Chavez and others...

BTW, the topic of this thread is about the treatment in Apple Discussion forums: I am not asking for solve a problem because this problem doesn't have a solution yet!!!

Best Regards!

It's little wonder why your thread got erased, if this is how you conducted yourself in the Apple forums. How are statements like these constructive and helpful to the people trying to solve your problem?

Ok, the deleted thread was not created by me. I just felt disrespected when people started to defend Apple responsibility in fixing the problem.

I just mentioned some dictators to show what those admins did with customers opinions, not only my opinion was deleted, but several others...

Best Regards!

I don't think it is just a MacRumors thing. I see this almost everywhere. One person gets a bad unit so they think they are all junk and many times the number of users having an issue are small. When it's widespread, it's a different story. The iPhone 4 antenna issue is a good example. Apple came up with a solution, whether people liked it or not, they did try to resolve the issue and it pretty much disappeared soon afterward.

Another thing that many people need to learn or perhaps they will as they get older and have more life experience is that you are much more likely to get what you want by being polite, yet firm. Name calling gets you know where with customer service. I am always polite yet firm and I get what I want 80% of the time. Most reps will meet you halfway as long as you are open minded. And unfortunately, some issues are a nightmare to resolve. I would be very surprised if Apple doesn't make this right at some point in time.

MisterMe was correct, you didn't post a serious question you posted a snide comment, hence it was deleted (which is good because it keeps the threads from turning in to Engadget forums).

What you needed to do was post something like "I am having an issue with my wifi, anytime I do such and such, this happens. Has anyone else had this issue?"

You need to be specific with the problem. I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about as far as Lion wifi issues since I have never experienced them or know anyone who has. Being specific is the only way to get tech related help.

Again fellows: that thread was not created by me. I was just replying (and agreeing) with the original poster!!
My point is: Apple did a dictatorial decision when deleted customers opinions!!

Clarified?

Yes, you've clarified your position, however your position is untenable.

Not every opinion has the right to exist on a privately-owned forum (a lot of it depends on how it is stated, the spirit in which it is stated, and how the questioner reacts to replies.) It's not a democracy. Nor, for example, is MacRumors. The owners decide what stays and even when to bend or break (as in make exceptions to) their own rules.

Site owners and site editors are not subject to the forum rules. Why? Because they actually are the dictators who dictate the content and set the rules. It's their site. It's Apple's site and they are within their rights. In any case, judging by the little exchange that went on, the thread was not going to end well.

Great, I thought the Internet forums (specifically Apple) wasn't subjected to censure!
I learned the lesson and will stay away from that politically incorrect forum!

But the wifi problems continues with Lion all over the globe... lol
(I think if Apple continues to censure their customers like that, very soon they will become Microsoft...)

Welcome to the world of apple, you won't get a straight answer here nor on the Apple forums.
Wifi has been a big issue for me too, I'm on snow leopard on a 3 year old C2D Macbook Pro...... The same problems exist on my friends iPad 2 but NON of my PC's or other wifi devices (non apple) exhibit the issues. The problems are making me question if its worth buying another Apple again, especially how Apple deal with the problems. Look at some of the high profile issues of the Antenna's on the iPhone..

One read the terms of use you agree to before joining / using the support discussions.
Ask for help and you will usually get it, after all the folks helping out are just users like you.
Start ranting and it will be removed.
I have helped out there for a few years now.. Level four.

I totally agree with you! People are more interested in making excuses (that was the word I've used to have the post removed:
"Excuses") taking Apple's liability off the problems than actually looking at the big picture:

Apple is becoming Micro$oft!

This wifi problem is worldwide and there's no solution yet, even on Lion 10.7.2 according to the developers...

Actually, a fair number of manufacturers do have support forums, and some even have actively supported hacking. Just mention the word "jailbreaking" on the Apple forum, and the post will likely be deleted.

Also, if a post is too negative about an Apple product, it stands a good chance of being sent down the 1984 "memory hole". Of course, if it's negative towards Apple competition, it's allowed to stay. Hypocrisy at its finest.

-- When members revolted:

Back when the iPhone first came out, the forum wasn't too bad. Apple needed supporters and let a lot of comments ride.

Then came the first iPhone massive price cut and oh boy did their forums light up with early buyers complaining about being ripped off.

It was quite an amazing revolt. Former fans turned on Apple like rabid animals.

I think someone counted thousands of angry iPhone owner posts being deleted before the Apple forum moderators finally realized they couldn't win and had better let people rant. So they backed off.

The result of all that anger was Jobs announcing store credits for all the early buyers.

Very nice comment!!!
This is my point as a customer that paid for a "working" upgrade.

I guess Apple is starting to have the problems when you conquer first place in selling iThings, then suddenly begin watching the competition taking their first place (e. g. Android Smartphones, Linux servers) and just start releasing unfinished products...

iPhone 5 was born dead as Samsung Galaxy S II is already the best Smartphone in everything!!!! (I wonder what kind of "quick fix" Apple will do to revert this...

Maybe that's why Mr. Jobs retired, because he couldn't see his company starting releasing unfinished products "just to compete" to keep the first place!!!
