I'm fed up of my iPod touchs poor capacity and battery life. Therefore, I want a classic. Do apple take back products for store credit ?

Almost never. A few people have reported that Apple would take back a MBP like a week after a new model, but then you only get the new model.

they don't do trade-ins just because you're not happy. If you are within the 14 days you can return it but pay a restocking fee.

You can trade any iPod (excluding the shuffles) for 10% off any iPod (excluding shuffles) with Apple's recycling program in the retail stores.

Let's say I hire you to cut the grass in my garden. When you're done I change my mind and ask you to clean up my garage instead, for free obviously because you got the money for cutting the grass which I didn't want anymore. Would you do that?
