Has anyone heard of any plans for Apple to make DVD ripping software? Perhaps something like itunes but for DVD's? I really wish they would, because I would like to take my movies with me on the road, without having to take all the actual DVD's. All the current DVD ripping apps are sloppy, and complicated. We need an easy to use interface that allows you to insert your dvd, pick a bit rate then, let it take care of everything else.

DVD Backup 1.3 lets you do this very easily. You can even play the vid in the Apple DVD Player.

Apple will never make something like that.

Why would apple never make something like that? I don't understand why everone sees dvd ripping as such a taboo. I copy my music onto my computer, it's the same thing for video. I have the same right to put those on my computer as I do my music. Apple will do it one day. Perhaps not till it's as common as cd ripping. It's a mater of when, not if.
