I want to use this promotion to save $300 on the new MacBook Pro however I’m not a college student nor a parent of one. My daughter is only 2nd grade. I just priced one out online and have gone as far as submitting order, it did not ask for any education ID verification. Does Apple regularly checking these? It seems too good to be true without any verifications in place.

I’m debating whether to have it ship to me or picking it up at an Apple store. I’m afraid the store gonna ask me for school ID if I order online and do store pick up. Anyone wants to chime in?

You want us to ease your conscience when gaming the system? Wow.

Typically, they don't ask for ID, it's done on the 'honor system'. Of course, that assumes that the customer is acting honorably... Odd are good that you can get away with it... but there's always a chance that the sales guy will challenge you on it.

Apple will email for verification rarely if suspicious. They offer the discount to home school teachers and that is impossible to prove. I wouldn't worry.

There is k-12 education discounts that your daughter could benefit from especially if homework requires using a working computer The price lists for the k-12 discount is here https://www.apple.com/education/pricelists/
I recommend contacting an Apple store since it would be easier to let them arrange a purchase of an educational laptop for your daughter using the appropriate k-12 discount. The college discount is also applicable to faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels. If you decide were to be hired as faculty or staff at any grade level you would qualify for the college discount also if you were to become a homeschool teacher you would also qualify for the college discount

I have had Apple contact me to check - provided my staff ID and all was well.
