Me: how many iPads is every store getting? 9:41am
Steve jobs: 1 billion per store. 9:42am

Jk. Hope that's true man

Sounds about right, their was an article last week talking about how each Apple store would have roughly 700 iPads (on avg) based on the total number of reservations and stores. Clearly larger ones such as the NYC stores will have more while places like KC will likely have less. I don't anyone that has a reservation will be left out. Unlike the the iPhone 3GS launch was, the Apple store ran out by 5 or so and had to send people home until the next day. The store was a mad house for a couple of days with lines forming every morning and lasting a good part of the day. I'll be a bit surprised if they end up turning away as many people for the iPad as they did for the iPhone. Guess we will know in a few days. :)

My guess is that except for a few (less than 50) extra iPads of various storage capacities, all the ones they have will be for the reserved, and very few to none for the in line waiter. They will sell out on Saturday and none will be available Sunday unfortunately. For the next week after that they will get intermittent shipments each day and sell out each day most likely. It will probably go on like that for about 2 weeks. Right now if you order from the Apple store online you are looking at April 12th (9 days later) just to ship, maybe having it go out a couple days earlier.

I plan on going by a store late that first week or sometime the 2nd week during the day on my lunch hour to check out a demo unit when hopefully the store isn't very crowded.
