There has been much discussion on what is going to be announced at the apple special event on Tuesday; I have looked in to previous events and rumours surrounding the event and have come up with this list and the probability of them being announced.

Product Updates

*New iMac's: 90%
The iMac has had a range of rumours ranging from new keyboards to muit-touch screens, furthermore it is overdue for an update according to MR's Buyers Guide. One future expected is LED backlights.

*New Mac Mini's: 75%
The evidence on the subject of the Mini being discontinued I believe to be unsubstantiated and in MR's own Buyers Guide it is long over due for an update.

*Display updates: 75% - or within 2007
I believe that the reason the displays have not had major updates are due to Apple developing technologies for it. Rumours suggest that they will incorporate iSight's and touch-screen's as well as LED backlights.

*iLife and iWork updates: 50%
Whist a strong possibility, I would expect Apple to release it at the same time as Leopard for a marketing advantage.

*.Mac: 50%
Again whist a strong possibility, I would expect Apple to release it at the same time as Leopard for a marketing advantage.

New Products

*Tablet PC: 25-50%
When Steve Jobs was at D he talked about the digital hub and how the future was going to be, he specifically mentioned the Tablet PC.

*UMPC: 50%
Whist there are not many rumours on the subject, market analysts have agreed that it would be Apple's interest’s to create a Ultra-Mobile Mac.

Minor updates

*MacPro - Updates to new NVIDIA cards and other minor tweaks.
*Xserve - New processors.
*MacBook - Santa Rosa Platform with GMA X3100 Graphics.
*AirPort Express - 802.11n support and Video.

Products not mentioned

*MacBook Pro - undergone update in June
*Mac Software - no need for a press event for software.
*AirPort Extreme - Underwent update in Jan 07 no need to update hardware.

The following are for the same reason:

*iPod
*iPhone
*iTunes
*Apple TV

Reason: Apple reps have confirmed that these will not be of any focus at the event. Also there is generally an event around September which will focus on them.

NOTE: Whist not everything listed here will come true on the day, they may follow weeks and months later.

i think your percentages are way off. you give .mac and ilife 50%, which you also give to the likelihood of a umpc? really? i do think new imacs are coming, but nothing is 100%. and i'm surprised you gave the mac mini such a high percentage with all the rumors that the mini is going to be discontinued. i think percentages in general just suck.

p.s. no way displays will be updated this year (my opinion). apple will wait until they can get led backlighting, and i don't see that happening anytime soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't an update of Final Cut Express generally introduced at the same time as new versions of iLife? If so, maybe tomorrow will see an update of this program.

i don't think the displays will get touchscreens.

i agree that an iMac update is likely - but who wouldn't? this has been the major rumor in the mill for weeks now.

maybe an announcement about iLife and iWork since we haven't heard anything about them in quite some time.
