Apple, correct this: Apple TV. Also, put apps in a TV. Also, rename iTunes - it's past music now. Also, I don't need another social network -- Facebook is all I can tolerate and even it's *barely* useful. That is all.

Yeah, even Steve looked bored. I miss the old days when "one more thing..." actually meant something amazing was going to be revealed.

I was yawning just reading the MR summaries. I feel for the poor saps that actually moved their butts to sit through it. But perhaps I shouldn't...if god didn't want them shorn he wouldn't make them sheep.

As for social networking... it's just a bandwagonzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Are we at the the stage where regardless of what Apple does, we will always expect more and thus be disappointed?

I was hoping for a 3G on the new iPod Touch. Oh well.... But the new Nano looks nice for.

No way. I'm very excited for the new iPod touch and the Nano (iWatch). Getting both.

Most of you iPhone 4 owners don't give a crap about today's event but we iPT fans do.

This may sound like something your parents would say, but I think a lot of people are ungrateful, tbh. I love these updates.

We don't realize just how spoiled we are with Apple gear.

Switch to Win-PCs and also-ran brands only and see how you feel in a month. Yikes!

Very true, but I was thinking more generally, not just Apple. A lot of work goes into these products.

I'm not spoiled. I haven't bought any of Apple's gadgets yet because I'm still waiting for Apple to build a computer that meets my needs. I'm plugging along with my old Mac waiting and waiting. I'm certainly not going to buy all the things Apple makes that connect to a computer when Apple isn't making the computer I want to hook all those things up to.

I'm like the Energizer Bunny... "Keeps waiting and waiting and waiting... for something between the mini and the Pro."

Ok, so maybe this isn't as exciting as a keynote speech, but there's still plenty of gadgetry in PC land to get excited about.

(and yes, that's a $500 poor man's Macbook Air)

I've actually been using Windows 7 exclusively for the past month and I quite like it. Plus it's running on a custom built PC so I got to choose what goes in it.

the problem is everything is leaked (either on purpose or not) before the event, so we already know what is coming before the event.

between the mini and pro? its called an iMac.

Wow, no matter what they do at a keynote there's always someone who whines & whimpers it's the worst one...

Wasn't really anything to do with Mac, so I can understand how a Die-hard Mac fan would have been bored.
Except it wasn't a Mac keynote, it was an Apple keynote. :) If they had said it was going to be Mac-based, and then only announced a new processor or something, I'd be disappointed. This was a company event that refreshed a lot of their core business.

No it's called being forced to accept whatever screen Apple decides to give me. Want the faster processor you have to have the bigger screen. And there isn't much in the way of upgrades when it comes to an all in one. The iMac is not the type of computer that meets my needs.

Yeah, it was boring, it lacked any punch and to be honest, the product roll out was ho-hum at best.

At worst, it showed off some devices that I think won't really catch on. The nano is odd, in that its w/o a click wheel. Given the small size, how useable will that tiny touch screen be? They went back to a square shuffle, albeit with a click wheel because people like the click wheel (so why did they remove it from the nano )

Apple gave us a new apple-tv providing addition through subtraction (removing the hard drive).

None of these products really will garner too much major interest at this point. The iPods are mature products on the downward portion of its lifecycle and the apple tv just doesn't seem to offer very much to appeal to the typical consumer. There are other devices that do more for less $$

Apple is forcing you to buy it? Really? Wow. o_O

I don't think that's what he's saying. The system between the Mini and Mac Pro is the iMac. So, if he wants the i5, he has to move to the larger screen model, when all he may want is the processor and the 21.5" screen.

I see what he's saying. He wants something between the Mini and MP that is not an all-in-one.

Exactly. But the OP's thread title said it was a yawner even for a die hard Mac fan.

So...... you're agreeing with me, then?

I liked it actually. There were a lot of great new products and I already ordered a new nano. I've been wanting a clip iPod with a screen for a long time.

Yes, the surprise element is missing.

Remember the original Nano? Now that was a complete surprise. I was so excited I had to run out and buy one that weekend :)

By comparison, the AppleTV "one more thing" was entirely predictable. To explain, one of my ATVs died a couple of months ago and I've been patiently waiting for the Mk II model so I can replace it.

And there it was. As predicted.

The new Nano is one of the most hated iPods already.

FAIL. The video is interesting.

This thread is a Yawner.

FAIL. Your post is a Yawner.

Yeah, yeah, but you know what?! When you'll sell your Blu Ray disc on Amazon for a couple of dollars in 2016, we'll be there with our new and shiny Macs with BR drives and buy them. How much do they cost you now? HAHAHAH-HAHAHAH! (How do I make evil laugh?)

the problem is everything is leaked (either on purpose or not) before the event, so we already know what is coming before the event.

Many now wish the leaks were wrong.
