Is Nov 7 the expected date for the Extended Holiday Return period to go into effect?

Checked around Halloween but  didn’t mention Christmas return policy but I checked again today there isn’t any mention of it nor on Apple Store app

Wait until like around Veterans Day they should update it and also show the holiday Apple gift giving guide on the website.

Last few years has been either the first or second (last year) Friday of November. However, German said something is happening November 12 in his newsletter, so it’s possible that they launch a product or two and start the holiday returns policy on the 12th.

I remember some resellers started since like almost Halloween!

I won't lie .. doesn't bother me a bit!

The extended holiday return period is a THE time to try out products one might be on the fence about.

Apple's policy isn't the longest, but still great, and could be used for say an extended VisionPro trial!

That type of product is one that really benefits from an extended trial beyond just 2 weeks.

Agreed. If you bought the Vision Pro when the extended Apple return policy for Christmas (hopefully around Veterans Day!) comes into effect, you can try it for about 2-ish months.

However, if you need to try features that aren’t available in the Apple Store Vision Pro demo, such as the Mac virtual display, Persona, and FaceTime/spatial video features, it’s better to try it on your own than to reserve a demo. Since Vision Pro demos are rarely longer than 30 minutes, there’s usually enough time for everyone to try it out. But if there isn’t as much reservations or demos for Vision Pro for that day, the Apple specialist at the Apple Store can give you a little more time to try it on. I’ve had two demos go all the way to 45 minutes or an hour.

It's annoying that they are waiting so long this year. People are already ordering holiday gifts..

And for those who are saying there's a pattern, these are the dates since 2019:

2019 — November 15, 2019 — Friday.
2020 — November 10, 2020 — Tuesday.
2021 — November 1, 2021 — Monday.
2022 — November 4, 2022 — Friday.
2023 — November 3, 2023 — Friday.
2024 — November 8, 2024 — Friday.

So it kinda vaguely seems like they adjusted it to earlier dates during COVID and are now slowly pushing it back. But who wants to wait for some random unannounced date that could be this week, could be next week? I'll just order gifts from other places at this point.

I’ve noticed that other resellers like Amazon and TJ Maxx have started offering extended returns for the holidays as soon as they announce the early Black Friday deals weeks before Halloween.

Yup and I don't really see a big downside to starting it on Nov 1 every year like they already did once. I mean, does a week or two after that make a difference for their bottom line? Anyone who's using the return window to try a device instead of to buy gifts is going to do that anyway, it's the people trying to get gift shopping done early who will be irritated and go buy from someone else. I still buy Apple products, but I'm sure their margin on third party retail is not as high as when I buy straight from Apple.

oh no why they still not announce? just make it Nov 7th for this year
They’re making us wait until next week around Veterans Day or whenever they show the holiday gift list they’ll have holiday return policy.

Still no change on  website on Apple Store returns and exchange policy for Christmas. 🎄

Totally makes no sense  does indeed start holiday returns later than other resellers

Walmart started since around Halloween too!

Apple's site does not mention the extended policy. I'm pretty blown away an Apple rep would tell you Nov 8 when Apple haven't announced it. Sounds like someone just told you something they probably shouldn't have.

Last year when bought an iphone on the first day of the extended return policy, I asked if it would be covered under that policy (just to be sure): the employee didn’t know that it had started and had to ask several other employees, who also didn’t know. A manger, and my receipt, clarified things. 😊

Like a lie? Maybe they were talking about Fuji apples and they were a greengrocer.
