Looking to purchase through Apple this year instead of Verizon since they’ve lost their mind and went on 36 month contracts while still requiring 50% to be paid off before a yearly upgrade.

I see there are two options for payments with Apple. Both 24month, one is about $10 more a month to upgrade early after 1yr. I was just curious why the extra $100+/- ish just to upgrade early? And wanted to make sure this was the only option if I wanted to upgrade early?

Last, if I intend on upgrading early but the new iPhone (15 pro?) isn’t worth a upgrade to me personally, am I going to be stuck with a +$10 extra payment each month to finish out the 24mo contract term? Not sure I feel like overpaying for a phone I’m already overpaying for 🤣.

This is probably a concerns someone has had before and I’m just a noob coming on board with apple so it’s all new to me.

Thanks everyone!

Ah, that explains it the. Essentially them making you pay up front to protect their phone.
