I have the Fitness app on my phone and iPad. I have been closing rings for a few years so I like the app. I noticed a Notification on the app on my iPad and clicked it. It’s Apple trying to get me to sign up for Fitness+ with a 3-month free trial. I’m not interested but there seems to be no way out of that screen. No close button and I’ve closed down the app but it’s still there when I go back to it. Is Apple that desperate for my $9.99/month? Help me get out of there. Has this happened to anyone else?

Can you provide a screenshot of the Fitness app with the Fitness+ trial popup?

Here is a screen shot. It’s not really a popup. I clicked on the app because there was a Notification showing. The app opened but won’t go away. I really don’t want to sign up for the free trial and cancel it—I just want the page to go away.

Here's what might be happening:

Fitness is an app that's available from Apple for both iPhones and iPads. On iPhones it works as a standalone application for tracking activities, or in conjunction with an Apple Watch. It can also be used to access Apple's Fitness+ service which costs extra.

On the iPad however the Fitness app is only intended to be used with the Fitness+ service. You have the Fitness app on your iPad because the Fitness+ service is available in your country; I for example don't have it on my iPad, and can't install it from the App Store, because Fitness+ is not available here.

My recommendation is: if you're not interested in Fitness+ ignore the Fitness app on the iPad and disable its notifications in the Settings app. Continue to use the Fitness app on your iPhone as you have thus far, and ignore the "Fitness+" tab you see at the bottom of the iPhone app. You can switch to the other tabs on the iPhone to continue to fill your rings.

Or since he likes and uses the app, maybe use the free perk and try Fitness+. Odd to me that you wouldn’t try it, especially with how easy it is to cancel.

You are using fitness apps... I mean are they good like legit?
I was on a solo trip to Indonesia where I rode a vehicle called a tomtom. As we were riding I saw my apple watch counting steps.😂

So I don't know I am kind of sceptical.

oh man, I feel you. Try moving your hand up and down. And it will still count :)) So, I don't trust them either. But yes, I would love to have recommendations without the above and tom tom issue :D

Fitness apps do seem like great options, but I'm not entirely sure how great they are. I have one on my phone and it counts even the tiniest movements as steps. It can be a bother sometimes. If you have any suggestions for efficient ones, please let me know!
