Trying to decide between Peloton digital and Fitness+. Was excited for AF+ but... there is no outdoor running. Have been using Nike Run Club but they're not updating content. Would like to use AF+ but without a treadmill and gyms closed here... AF+ isn't an option. Does anyone know if AF+ will add outdoor guided runs soon and/or have you tried Peloton digital for outdoor runs. (their trainer Bec was a Nike Run Club trainer and I've enjoyed her runs on NRC - but there is no new content). Her Peloton runs are being updated all the time. Will AF+ add outdoor guided runs?

it has never been mentioned but this is brand, brand, brand new. i'm going to guess every aspect of the service will get bigger and better with time but i would expect what there is now is what it will mostly be like for the first 6-12 months (i could see small tweaks sooner, like more longer classes or themed classes in response to user input) and then next fall with watchOS 8 and ios 14 might be a further expansion with more class types and support for equipment data etc.

I've used all three services you mentioned and each one has a plus in a certain area. NRC for runs inside or out, peloton for the live classes and their digital app, and Fitness + is brand new but the integration for the Apple Watch is amazing! This is Fitness+ 1.0 and I think they will bring new features over time. I believe live classes are needed, as the connection with "Live" pushes folks a lot harder. On Demand is easier for Apple and the Instructors so they can edit/etc, but I believe providing Live Classes and outdoor run Fitness+ options will come in 2.0 or 3.0. I agree the annual Apple Watch updates will now probably be the Fitness+ services updates. Very early innings, and I've dropped the other two services now going all in on Apple Fitness+ because the integration with the Apple Watch is so good. YMMV

BTW... I have tried to provide direct feedback to Apple using http://www.apple.com/feedback. However - there is NO Apple Fitness category. I provided feedback in the iTunes feedback section (since its a subscription)... but was told by Apple I had to provide feedback in the right category. But there is NO category for Apple Fitness. If anyone else has a 'pipeline' into Apple's feedback... 1) please add Apple Fitness+ to the feedback page and 2) please add Outdoor Guided Runs to AF+. To clarify... I'm not suggesting 'Live' classes. I'm just asking for guided runs that are not specific to a treadmill. Gyms are closed in my area, and many of us do not have treadmills as we prefer to run outside. Peloton has a great offering which I'll try for 30days but was hoping to use Apple because of the integration with ALL my other Apple products/services. I'll switch from Peloton Digital back to Apple Fitness+ as soon as there are outdoor guided runs. ?

I believe Apple will add outdoor running before the end of 2021. If they do, I will probably join for that feature.
I predict they'll have outdoor running similar to Nike Run Club's guided runs by summer when it's warm out. It's winter and not many people would go for an outdoor run right now so Apple's probably using this time to work on the outdoor run workouts.

Definitely a huge plus if they add outdoor guided runs as the weather warms up in the north east! They already added “Time to walk” audio workouts for walkers so I gotta believe it’s just a matter of time before outdoor running audio experiences come next. Fingers crossed it happens sooner than later...we are in a third wave of covid and lockdowns here in Toronto.

Have you used "Time to Walk" at all yet? What do you think of it? I haven't gotten a chance to take an actual decent walk (thanks to a crazy work schedule, weather, and work around the house)! I tend to put music on if I'm out walking, but definitely interested in giving this a try!

You can access the Apple Feedback app on a Mac (just use Spotlight) or iPhone/iPad by typing “applefeedback://“ into Safari.
