iPad Pro Apple Folio Keyboard... finger print magnet

Hi all, so I bit the bullet a few ago and got myself the Apple Folio Keyboard for my ipad pro 11. Was debating trying out the Logitech one...but apple did not have it out on display. Plus I knew Apple's was lighter by default. So figured it would be the better bet.
Luckily apple gives you two weeks to try out the product.

What I wasnt expecting was the amount of fingerprints that this baby can attract.

Anyone had success of removing the fingerprints from theirs? I tried a microfiber cloth and a paper towel with some wringed out water... And a part of me is paranoid in ruining it. Since Ive noticed threads about the keyboard becoming wrinkly over time? At this point the fingerprints seem almost like they will be a permanent attraction. Which is just unseemly.

I know its a small thing to complain about perhaps. But if I spend a ridiculous amount on a keyboard. I want it still looking pristine by at least day 2.

I actually haven't noticed any fingerprints on mine but I'm thinking of returning it for the Brydge keyboard because it has a hinge and a backlit keyboard. I'd miss the smart connector compatibility though. Apple's folio keyboard definitely isn't bad but I'd say not worth $200.

I have the Apple Smart Folio (not the keyboard) - it is made of the same terrible material. I have been cleaning it with a general purpose cleaner I use for cleaning around my house, and a cotton cleaning cloth. This emoves most of the fingerprints, but not all of them. I have been watching for a skin of some kind to cover this thing, finally gave up on finding a skin for the Smart Folio and bought one for the Apple Smart Keyboard from iCarbons. I cut the single piece intended for the front of the Keyboard to fit the three panels of the Folio, and didn't do the best job, but there's no going back once you've cut this apart so it is what it is. If someone comes out with a skin designed for the Folio, I'll probably buy one and remove the one I have applied. Unless I can find a better case/cover before then.

The Folio functionality and thin/lightness is perfect for me, but the material is just terrible. When I saw the case options Apple has for the new iPad Air, for a brief moment, I thought it might be worth selling the Pro and getting an Air just for the case options! I exaggerate, of course, but I have been thinking back fondly to a black leather Smart Cover I had for an iPad years ago . . .

i have heard about water damage = wrinkly skin. I’ve only found out about it after i tried to find the reason why my ask folio is wrinkly. I have no way to confirm if it’s true but fyi, I’ve only wiped the case with damp towel three times in its whole life and now all sides are wrinkly except the center. i’ll post the pic later but just to be safe, be extra careful with it. If i could turn back time i wouldn’t even let a drop of water get near it... :/

Sorry can’t give a solution bc i’m having the same question!!

Yea so a bit of a update...I ended up returning the keyboard... ordered a skin for it and for the back of my iPad from slickwraps. They have 70 percent off sales here and there. Waited a month for it to get to me (fyi..they are known to be soo slow that I had to go through paypal and make a claim against them for not shipping on time, and not telling me when they will ship when I contacted them). Finally I purchased the keyboard again.. and put on the skin... which is actually quite lovely. Its the slate black colour.

So at least that solved the fingerprint issue for me. And I’m not that paranoid of getting wrinkly skin due to hand oil or water on it now.

The skin for the iPad was lovely too, but I only used the single back cutout... the side cutouts (where the charger is etc) were not cut out properly so I opted to not to put on the sides.
There are cutouts for the front too but I like the original black border as is. And since I am about protection... I have a glass protector that covers the whole front already. So that makes those front cutouts be a bit useless.
And I dont feel like complaining about it to them about the side cutouts...as at least most of everything was good and pretty cheap too. Paid 32 us for it - including shipping.... When without the discount it would be around 90ish.

So all in all... it took a bit time. But at least I found a solution.
