I am sure this topic has been addressed in the past, but the question remains:

Why is there a lack of the top games for Apple?

I am not into gaming, but I actively pester my friends to switch over to Mac. The most common response: "I would, but there's no games."

Why no games?

There are a select few of the games and more seem to be coming every month.

Should there be as much as on the PC? I don't think so because there's a lot of games lacking quality. Why would anyone want to waste the money?

Sometimes, it's just difficult to port games from Windows because they're written in a non-portable way.

I've seen a few games on the PC that I want from time to time like NeverWinter Nights, Jedi Knight II, and Unreal Tournament 2003. They're all coming.

If there's something specific you want to see, you need to find a good reason to have it brought to the Mac. It's a matter of a publisher being able to sell it. If there's no one else who's going to buy it, why should they put money into it? If you can give them good reasons, tell them about it. They won't turn away these days.

It's getting to be a matter of who can programme Macintosh and games. There's enough demand, but probably not enough programmers. Perhaps, schools will start to teach Mac OS X as part of their curriculum for game programming.

most good games do get ported, by then some of the best games dont get ported. like grand theft auto, battlefield, planetside, galaxies. two games that i want ported (so far they havent said that they wouldnt be ported) is splinter cell an raven shield. we usually get all of ubi soft's tom clancy games and since splinter cell has been ported to everything i would hope it would come, it will take a hell of pc to play it though.
