So I applied for the Apple Genius position, and I did quite a bit of research on it, but the only credible source for pay rate (thinksecret.com) is obviously not around to give the info on it, and any links to it are of course, dead.

I was also wondering if anyone knows from first or second hand accounts if they actually want you to go to Apple in Cupertino just to train for the job? How long are you there, and do they pay for the entire thing? I applied to the Kenwood Town Centre store in Cincinnati, OH I don't know how much that matters or not.

When/if you go in for an interview, you can ask your interviewer then what the pay rate is, benefits, training, etc., just like any other normal job.

I can say with almost certainty that you wouldn't have to go to Cupertino. It's an international company and I can't see what they could do at Cupertino that they couldn't at the store. Plus I really don't think being a "genius" is important enough to warrant flying people over from all over, it's retail.

I have also wondered about this. I talked with an Apple Genius at the Cleveland location and he mentioned having to go to Cupertino for two weeks for training.

Although I am employed full time as a graphic designer, I have had some serious thoughts of getting a PT job at the Apple Store here in Columbus. I too wonder what is involved in the Apple Genius position.
