So today, i brought in my mbp to the genuis bar for repairs. First the latch next to the isight was popping out and not closing properly when you close it. It was broken. Second, the lcd is showing increasing band of brightness at the lower 1/5th of the screen. It has been getting worst over time.

The latch problem, the genius brought the laptop towards the back for a quick fix, it seems like the problem isn't there anymore. HOWEVER, he insisted that it was my fault that it was having problems. That if any further repairs require change of the front panel of the lcd.

I only have had the mbp since end of 2006 and had no problems with the latch until last week when I notice it wasn't closing.

Then he continues on to say that the screen is fine, that uneven mbp lcd lighting is normal and refuse to do anything to it. I told him that when I got the mbp there wasn't uneven lighting, that the uneven lighting is getting worst, at which point, he basically said, come back when you have a red line on the screen or something.

Such attitude isn't new from my apple experiences. Today, when I asked another apple salesperson a question, she gave me the index finger indicating "one second" while she went off and never came back to me. The one that I got to finally answer my question was abrupt and quick.

What is wrong with apple today? I have had some very great customer services before from the exact same store.

I think the problem is also that ALL displays in the 15" MBPs are more or less unevenly illuminated. They don't have any perfect replacements so it's really just the luck of the draw whether you'd get a better one.
