I used to love Apple. But they took the headphone port away, and no new Mac Pros. Failed to give any innovative new product categories in forever. Missed the bus on eGPU announcement with TB3 MBPs. Showed emojis on a color bar instead Richest company in the world, with no vision or imagination remaining. Even worse they lost the desire to compete against PC. Just throwing in the towel to PC workstations, surface desktops, everything. Not a finger lifted to VR or AR or gaming. No desire to care about trying to advertise the Mac while Microsoft pounds "can't do that on a Mac" ads every commercial break. DO YOU NOT EVEN CARE ANYMORE APPLE? 2014 the last Mini. 2013 the last Pro. What is the excuse why these products aren't aggressively marketed, regularly updated, and priced competitively? How dare you sell a three year old Mac at original price?! WTF is going on in Cupertino? Crack smoking?

Shoot me now please

I'm annoyed too. I no longer recommend Apple products without caveats. I’m about to purchase my first new PC since 2000.

Apple has no excuse. If I was running it, we'd still have badass computers the likes of which you have never seen. The Mac Pro would be solid steel with integrated liquid nitrogen cooling and quad SLI titans in an optical cabled enclosure. We'd buy Magic Leap and take it from there.

Apple is now a multi billion dollar phone company.
Weird... They have become the thing that they so reviled in the famous Super Bowl ad.

They have no interest in "computers" or the old paradigm of desktops.
No reason to innovate... this concept is dead for them.
Maybe they could license OSX to work in new state of the art current computers...
Probably not.
I suspect they'd rather see it just die and become the next IOs.

Sad times for the old Mac pros here.

If the day does arrive when Mac Pro or even the entire desktop line is discontinued I'd like to be here at the Q&A with the three musketeers...

I do think tha...*cough* I do HOPE that at least an iMac refresh is coming (very) soon - that would show that they still care about their desktop line. As for the Mac Pro, I could buy a 2013 now and be very happy with it I guess (I'm a musician, I don't do 3D and heavy rendering...), it's a very capable machine - but my 2006 IS still very capable. I probably could talk my boss into upgrading our 5,1 but, I don't know... We're going to need a new one soon, but I prefer waiting at this point. Waiting....and waiting....and waiting.... and w..... The only indication that the Mac Pro might not be dead is that they now come with Sierra installed! What a consolation!! ;)

I just bought Logic Pro X yesterday - and thought, what a slick looking and powerful application....why can't they put the same care in their Mac Pro line instead of telling us every 3 months how vital it is to have a watch that keeps us healthy.

Only Kate Beckinsale could break my heart. ;)
I gave up trying to understand Apple's (non-existant) direction. There is no clear concept in product line, form over function dominates anything and the prices are in the sky.

But would you ever make it past the garage phase? I see a lot of people claiming how much better they could make Apple, but really have no clue past their own basement.

Ironic, isn't it.

Considering Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started out creating telephone 'blue boxes', and later Apple computers, while railing against 'Big Blue'. It seems Apple has now come full circle.

I have no basement, they are musty and gross.

Also I am a lifelong Mac customer, user, musician, photographer, videographer, and software developer, not in that order.

I am sick of Apple not keeping its products freshly updated!!

Basements and garages are irrelevant!

The magic keyboard and trackpad were refreshed recently, seems that apple is still in the desktop business. I've been looking at these HP workstations where a 12 core 128gb machine is on the low end, you can get like 50 cores and 1TB ram. I thought about getting one of these but my magic keyboard and trackpad won't work on it.

That's a blessing, because it gives you the option to get an ergonomic keyboard.

Sorry but apple doesnt owe you crap, they just want your money with big profit margins for shareholders...

What is a better keyboard than the magic keyboard? I love the short pressing distance and am waiting for the mechanical keyboard community to get some short press options in a nice aluminum enclosure.

why would you use steel?

not saying that steel wouldn't be a neat material to use; visually.. like if it were raw hot-rolled with the scale still visible etc, it would probably be pretty sweet looking to me personally.. not sure about the masses though-- maybe too industrial looking..

but just curious about your reasonings behind wanting a (solid?) steel computer?

The stock price actually fell on both announcement dates. Wifi headphones and Mac Pro.
pretty sure that happens on every announcement/event day.

or- i don't think viewing stock prices on announcement days has any correlation with the product from a user point of view.

find something else to connect your feelings to.. not this one though.

Well my post was more to his "big profit margin" but for your post is just, no it doesnt fall and google
"Apple’s stock suffers fifth straight loss after earnings", this is again also correlated to the original post
about wifi headphones and the new mac.

I have no feelings about this just stating facts.
