Does anyone know how to show the total steps for the week, month and year on the dashboard? Mine just shows the same daily total no matter the timeframe.

Health will only show todays number and a bar graph (more detailed graph in landscape). Health is more of a repository of info that an info analyzer. You would need to find a 3ed party app that pulls data from Health and displays like you want.

Okay, thanks! Would you happen to have any suggested 3rd party apps?
No, but if you use an :apple:Watch and are an obsessive data nut (like I am) you could setup a spreadsheet and enter the daily values from the Activity app and compile as you wish.

I'm actually getting the Apple Watch. I am selling my Gear S watch and moving back to Apple. One of the things I hated about the Gear S is that Samsung totally abandoned it. The only thing I liked was the SHealth app would keep track of my daily/weekly and monthly steps, miles, etc. It also has a sleep tracker built into the watch which would also automatically enable the do not disturb mode on the watch when sleeping. I am hoping the Apple watch has a lot of the same functionality... especially since Apple still supports their watch unlike Samsung who just dropped support about a year after it came out.

i use an app called healthdash. it's OK and will do exaclty what you want, but i'm most appreciative of it because i deleted a year's worth of flights climbed data (oops) and was able to recover it manually - although with some effort - because it didn't flush it's cache, which was handy.

health is actually much more capable than many people are aware nowadays... i was surprised to learn a couple of things recently... @Julien did you know you can find a summary of data from any day ever quickly by going to health data -> calendar (at the top) and then picking a date?

also, the health app itself is capable of giving you monthly totals, if you flip it to "year" and turn the phone in landscape it will show the monthly figures for each month and you can drag your finger along the bar to see each data point.

healthdash will summarise it for you better. it's probably worth the small cost involved.
