Hi, I have a technical question about Apple Health data and the possibility to selective prune data.
When I export all health data (Health app | profile | Export All Health Data) I obtain an export.zip (~0.5GB)
Extracted gives me:
apple_health_export\workout-routes\<YEAR>\route<DATETIME>.GPX (~2.3GB)
apple_health_export\export.xml (~1.8GB)
apple_health_export\export_cda.xml (~0.9GB)
iCloud backup is now ~0.9GB but to be frank the above export was made 2 months earlier.
What I notice that I do start a workout like 'Outdoor walk' and 'Outdoor cycle' the route is also logged as well and can be displayed in the Fitness app as 'map' data.
To conserve storage I tried to look up if I could selectively delete Apple Health data regarding only the route or map data.
As in a bullet list my objectives are:
- Download All Health Data so to archive especially the workout-routes folder with all maps (can be done)
- Purge only the maps data from Apple Health data (can this be done?)
- Purge of the map should not interfere with health statistics (can this be done?)
Apple Health data location?
If I start the Apple Health data and select the 'workouts' section I can scroll all the way down to see several data sources
'Show All Data'
This shows me all workout data including visually the route/map.
'Show All Workout Routes'.
This only shows me visually the route/map. Workouts without map data doesn't show unlike under 'Show All Data'.
With every data source you can 'edit' and delete per row the data. So to just delete the map data can I delete data stored under 'Show All Workout Routes' and not impacting further this workouts data? I just want to delete the map data not the workout itself.
Thanks and stay healthy
Arian
