This is a pretty big deal. I'm disappointed macrumors hasn't picked up this story so I'm posting it here.

http://semiaccurate.com/2012/07/18/trinitys-system-architect-turns-up-at-apple/

This guy is an incredibly competent CPU architecture designer. The trinity APU achieves a high level of overall performance (good GPU performance) in a slim power profile.

Bruno can bring a lot to the table when it comes to designing future AX ARM CPUs for iOS devices. He's also the type of guy that could take a position like Mansfield's in the future. It's a big deal that he left AMD and didn't end up at Intel.

Well, you did give them a day to post about it but I also asked whether there was a NASCAR race this weekend. :D

Actually it's been a few days now and I too am surprised that this story hasn't been picked up by the Mac press.

Funny how a Digitimes PIE article will reach everywhere but a competent hire like Bruno elicits a "yawn" from Bloggers.

Trinity is a good APU. AMD's loss is Apple's gain.

Like jessica. said, I mentioned this to them on twitter yesterday with no acknowledgement. This news is actually 4 days old at this point.
