I created a secondary Apple ID recently so that I could download some apps from the UK App Store. I no longer have access to the cellphone number associated with this Apple ID. It was a pay as you go number that has since been changed.
My partners phone got a text asking for verification. Looks like phishing. This occurred after the initial 24 hour period to access my secondary iCloud account. So timing is the only thing that looks legit.
