Apple ID associated with other users

Currently on my MacBook Air I have my user account associated with my Apple ID and I am able to use my Apple ID password to unlock my account. The issue that I am having is when I add a new user to my MacBook I am not seeing the option to add their Apple ID to their account. Am I supposed to be able to have multiple users with their respective Apple ID? If so, how do I fix the problem that I am having?

Normally, it asks you to sign in when you first log in. If you missed it, then go to System Preferences > iCloud and select to Sign in.
Next go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > Change password > Enter your password then change to the Apple ID password.

There is no option to change to the Apple ID password. Which is why I am confused as to why he can't select that option. He is signed into his iCloud account.

I have attached pictures of what I can see with my account and what he can see with his account. This is popups right after you click "Change Password"

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Apple sort-of removed the option in .11.4. Apple no longer mentions the option in their documentation. Makes some sense: if iCloud/AppleID gets compromised, Mac is now "locked".

Believe can create a new account by re-running Setup Assistant. Instructions various places for doing that on the web and this board.

I'm too lazy right now to dig it up, but, also some commands that can be run from Terminal that can enable iCloud password for accounts. Have not tried this myself, so, you are on your own with this method, when found.

Well that is a bummer... I'll see if I can find that and try it out.

Yep... that is what is going on here. 10.11.4 disabled using the AppleID as the login. If you had it setup, you can keep it, but you can't enable the feature since 10.11.4.
