Apple ID associated with someone elses number

Hello,

My wife and I have swapped phones due to her needing more storage than me.

instead of wiping the phones first and then sticking in the sim cards. I swapped sim cards first and then wiped the phones.

Problem is that both our iMessage and FaceTime are now associated with both our phone numbers and I can't figure out how to delete our numbers from each others apple ID?

I know I can uncheck our phone numbers but its not letting me permanently delete the phone numbers from the iCloud accounts.

Any ideas?

Yep. Apple has a tool for this.

I've the same problem from when I bought then returned a new iPhone with a new SIM card. Unfortunately, without access to the SIM card, I'll never get this phone number removed from my account :/

Smh. Why so difficult

It does seem odd that there isn't just a 'disable' or 'remove number' button within the AppleID website when a password is required to access it.
