iPad Pro Apple ID Balance for Apple Care+ for iPad Pro 12.9–Yes or No?

Does anyone know if Apple ID balance can be used to purchase Apple Care for your devices? I have about $75 in my account and would like to use it towards the purchase of Apple Care for my 2020 iPad Pro 12.9. I went through the entire checkout line, provided the info of my credit card, but I was never given an option to use my Apple ID balance. When I purchased my M1 MBA recently, I had $100 balance in my account. The checkout process gave me an option to use that, and I did.

So you CANNOT use your Apple ID balance towards the purchase of Apple Care for your devices??

If I go to a physical Apple retail store, would they allow me to use it?

I just don’t want to put too many charges on my credit card.

The balance is the result of an Apple store gift card. Looks like I’ll go to an Apple retail store. They require you to book a session, and the two stores near me are full.

If you sign up for monthly AppleCare+ payments then it deducts from your iTunes balance (if you set that as default).

I was trying to pay the full amount, because the monthly installment is actually more expensive. Chatted with Apple Support. They couldn't help. Wound up putting the entire Apple Care charge on my credit card.

I recently bought quite a few items: an M1 MBA, a 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9, an SanDisk Extreme 1TB SSD. I was trying to cut down on the charges put on my credit card.

Advantage of monthly is it lasts until you cancel. So if you keep your devices longer than 2 years your still covered.

"up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months"

Previously on full 2yr coverage it was 2 incidents throughout the entire contract. So is this exclusively for monthly coverage or does this now make it a total of 4 incidents (2 per year) for full coverage buyers.

They had a lot of deals on discounted AppleID gift cards so I have a lot of AppleID credit on my account. But I also like paying it all up front and not thinking about those monthly charges for a warranty that I likely will not use.

Doesn't seem like it or at least nothing extra required on top of whatever diagnostics the phone reghlarly sends to Apple. When coverage on my brother's XR expired, the option to extend coverage just showed up in Settings - General. I didn't go through with it since we were doing the $800 trade-in but it looks like you just pay and you're good to go.

I had the option to extend my series 4 after the two years but declined that, no analysis needed. However on my iPhone, I continued it after the two years expired (but I had my phone replaced after the two years expired (you have 60 days to extend after expiration), I'm not sure if getting a refurbished device allows you to automatically add applecare+)?
