I am the tech guy for my extended family and have created somewhat of a mess. Many years ago I used my Apple ID to register my in laws iPhones, now I have many devices using my Apple ID. It has been OK but occasionally when people call me they will get a missed call, iMessages can get mixed up and my outgoing call logs show calls that they have made. Basically it’s a mess. If I make them their own Apple ID how would I restore their phone data: contacts, apps with data etc etc to their new Apple ID? I’ve been putting this off for so long but I would like to do this now. Does anyone know if the Anytrans program will work for this purpose. Thank you very much.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about doing a transfer or restore...but I don't know how big of a mess you made. ;) I would just sign out of your account and sign into theirs.

If they're signed into iCloud using your Apple ID, just sign out and it'll ask if you want to keep Contacts, Calendar, etc. on the phone. Select Yes or toggle the switch for things to keep. Then sign back in using their Apple ID and those things should then sync to their account. (If they have iCloud Notes, they can move them to iPhone storage first before signing out.)

For apps downloaded using your Apple ID, go to Settings -> iPhone Storage and Offload the apps. That will leave the data on the phone. Then redownload the apps using their Apple ID. (If you don't redownload apps with their ID, the apps would still be registered to yours and require your password when there are updates.)

Sign out of iMessage and FaceTime, and sign into theirs.

Hi iStorm thank you so much for your reply:
When should I remove their devices from my apple ID? (this is on the apple ID settings screen, I have a ton of devices listed here)

Family Sharing might be part of the solution.

Off the top of my head, I'd setup Apple IDs for others, have them sign out of iCloud and specify "keep on device" when asked about deleting contacts, messages, calendars, etc. Add other accounts to family plan, have them sign into their Apple IDs, "merge" all data when asked. Should "transfer" their current as-is info and then can go through process of cleanup on a per-device/account basis. This allows them to keep using the apps that were downloaded via your account.

You can do that any time. Removing it from your account won't affect them, other than maybe turning 'Find My iPhone' off...but you can turn that back on with their Apple ID.

thank you for the replies. It seems like it was easier than I thought, I thought by changing apple ID's it would cause the contacts, and apps to lose data but it seems like it isn't as tricky as I thought. thank you again
