Apple ID Question

Years ago when I got my first mac I just set up an anonymous apple id for iTunes. Might have used the same one for an iPod and first generation iPod that is no longer used.

Just got a new Mac Mini and was wondering what I should do about the apple id on this computer and whether or not to use an anonymous one anymore. Curious what other members here do currently or what they have done if they used an anonymous id in the past?

A generic name linked to an email address you don't use for anything.
