Hi everyone,

First time poster and actually just converted to Mac after being on Windows my whole life. I had a quick question if you guys could help me out.

I'm using the message app that comes preloaded with the Macbook Pro's and I don't like how it comes up as my email address when sending messages. Is there anyway to create a nickname or make it come up as just my name when I send messages from my Macbook?

Go into your contacts app. You should have yourself as a contact in there, add the email address to that contact.

If its not already a contact, the make yourself a new contact, put your name and email address. I think that should work.

Thank you for your help. This doesn't work on my machine, but if the person I'm chatting with does that it works.
